A problem or topic based guide to help you with your academic assignments from start to finish

Academic writing

When you start your assignment you may be unsure about which style of writing you should be using.  You will notice that the writing style required at university will be slightly different to what you are familar with.
The Writing Development Centre (WDC) in the Philip Robinson library has some useful resources and help for you if you need to find out more about academic writing.  They give you some really useful tips about how to start writing your assignment.  Click on the links below to find out more.

We've also included some other useful resources that are recommended by staff at the WDC for help with academic writing.

Don't forget - referencing is important at the writing up stage - what do I need to include?
