Kayleigh McLeman (muh-CLEM-an) is a Library Co-ordinator (Walton and PRL) and has answered the following questions in the style of "Desert Island Discs":
1. Pick some pieces of music for your stay that are special to you:
- I'm Not Okay - My Chemical Romance: The year is 2004. I am 19. Things are about to get emotional.
- The Happy Song - Imogen Heap: I sing this to my daughter most nights. A scientifically proven song to make kids happy :)
- Alan Partridge performing the Kate Bush medley for Comic Relief in 1999: Imagining the iconic dancing to go along with it would keep my spirits up.
- HOT TO GO! - Chappell Roan: This would be my hype song each morning.
2. Which book(s) would you like to take with you? You will already find the Complete Works of Shakespeare and a copy of the Bible or your choice of sacred text waiting for you on the island:
- Ninth House - Leigh Bardugo (the Alex Stern trilogy really): Dark Academia Fantasy, what more could you want?
- The Cruel Prince Trilogy - Holly Black: A really cosy comfort read full of escapism.
- How to kill your family - Bella Mackie: I've never loved a truly horrible protagonist so much.
- How to survive on a desert island - Samantha Bell
3. What band/singer from the past or present would you like to perform for you on the island?:
Are they on the island with me? Or are they going to be helicopter'd in to perform and then whisked off again? Am I stuck on the island with this singer/band? Let's say Fall Out Boy. Stunning vocals and their intricate lyrics just make them a top band to see perform.
4. What podcast and/or radio station would you like access to?:
Parenting Hell with Josh Widdicombe and Rob Beckett
5. What TV show and/or film would you like to watch?:
Bob's Burgers is my number 1 comfort TV show. Buffy the Vampire Slayer is number 2.
6. Pick a luxury item for your stay!
A magical iced coffee cup that continually refills with almond milk, espresso, and cinnamon and hazelnut syrup.
If there is anything else you would like to share with the team about yourself, please do so :):
I have 3 dogs called Arnie, Ripley and Dutch. An ode to 80's action films. I am named after the song 'Kayleigh' by Marillion.
