Covid-19: Impact and Response

COVID-19 has massively changed the face of sport across the globe. Universal decisions about how sport was to proceed during the pandemic were made quickly with the initial suspension and postponement of sporting leagues and events leaving many in a state of limbo. The social fabric of sport and its importance upon physical and mental wellbeing led to early calls for the resumption of both professional and amateur events. With strict guidelines and rigorous testing in place, football leagues gradually resumed, with motor sport, snooker, cricket, and many other sports following suit. However, things didn’t quite look or sound the same. The following resources offer wide-ranging information, guidance, and commentary regarding the impact and response of COVID-19 on sport.
