Every subject has unique and specialist types of information that add rigour and interest to research. Usually, you’ll need to look beyond Library Search for these information types; some are accessed via specialist databases, while others are available online via websites, social media or streaming platforms.

You can access the current edition of the Financial Times for free through the FT.com website via Library Search. Use it to search for up-to-date articles on pressing issues in the business world, the global economy, and international affairs. When you visit FT.com for the first time, log in using your Newcastle University username and password. After logging in, create your own personal 'MyFT' account to set up alerts and save topics of interest.
Search across local and major UK and international newspapers, business and industry trade magazines, business news, company information, press agencies and magazines from 1990s to present day, in various languages. Coverage is text only, and doesn’t include additional content such as images, layout, or adverts.
The Library is building a collection of historic computing books, under the guidance of Professors Brian Randell, Cliff Jones and John Lloyd. The main collection is housed at the Team Valley Research Reserve. Individual items are indexed in Library Search.
