Every subject has unique and specialist types of information that add rigour and interest to research. Usually, you’ll need to look beyond Library Search for these information types; some are accessed via specialist databases, while others are available online via websites, social media or streaming platforms.

Published by Elsevier ClinicalKey gives you electronic access to some of the most popular recommended clinical textbooks plus lots of other useful resources including images and video. Subjects covered include medicine, dentistry and pharmacy. It allows you to add a book to your own Bookshelf, highlight text, add notes, create flashcard, make presentations and more. Students doing a substantial placement in the NHS can access BMJ Best using their NHS Athens username and password.

Uptodate is an online resource designed to answer clinical questions at the point of care. You can search by disease, symptom, lab abnormality and drug. It also includes patient education materials, photos, graphs and charts.
