The University supports the latest version of EndNote, currently EndNote X9, which is available in all clusters and on any University-owned machine
If you are working with an earlier version on a University PC you can request an upgrade to the latest version through your Computing Officer or NUIT. Newcastle University has a site licence for EndNote and it can be installed on any University-owned machine free of charge (email software@ncl.ac.uk).
The University Site Licence allows installation of EndNote on staff and student personal machines.
To request a download of EndNote X9 please submit the EndNote Personal Use Request form to NUIT.
Note: this copy of EndNote is only for use whilst you remain at Newcastle University and must be removed if and when you leave.
It is possible to use EndNote on your Mac and also on your ipad.
See the video below which covers using EndNote desktop and EndNote online with Word on a Mac. EndNote is also compatible with Apple's Pages software but you will need to install the Pages EndNote plug-in.
An Endnote for iPad App is available as is guidance from Thomson Reuters on how to use Endnote on your iPad.
Papers software is Apple's own reference management software.
Please note that the EndNote Support Team is not able to support Mac users, although we will do our best to point you to useful information.
