Library Search holds a record of the resources available at Newcastle University's Libraries. It's an advanced search engine that will provide the location and access details for any of our 1.4 million items of physical or digital stock. Library Search identifies books, journals and law reports and tells you where to find them, in a physical location or via online services. You can also access Library Search via the Library website.
Library Search is an important component of answering face to face queries at the library help desk.
Library Help is how our users engage with the library, giving them a number of ways of asking questions and finding out information about our services. Library Help provides a knowledge base of around 500 searchable FAQs on all aspects of using the Library. Users can also email the Library Help email address libraryhelp@ncl.ac.uk which sends their query into a ticketing system that is monitored and answered by Library staff between 8am - 8pm every day of the week. There is also a Live Chat service offered within the same time frame.
