Manual Issues

There is an ongoing project to make the Law School building more accessible to staff and students. The initial stages of the building work took place in April 2023 and enabled access to the PC Cluster from the Law School's ground floor, rather than from within the Law Library itself. As a result, we are being asked to allow 'Not for loan' (reference-only) materials out of the library for use in this Cluster.

You are able to manually issue these items to a reader.

1)  Retrieve the red Manual Issues folder from the stand on the Library Help Desk bench.

2)  Complete the Issues sheet with the details of:

i)  the item being taken (please be accurate),

ii)  the details of the reader taking the item

3) Use the RFID loan function to disable the tag

  • Place the book on the RFID pad
  • Press 'Issue' (F8); do not use Alma

4) On return, use the RFID return function to enable the tag

  • Place the book on the RFID pad
  • Press 'Return' (F7); there is no need to use Alma

5) Cross through the entry in the Manual Issues file (e.g. STUDENT, Any.)
