Law Library cover only - not Student Aides

This is a task for Law Library cover only and is not intended for Student Aides.

PFS (Pick From Shelf)

One of the Law Library daily jobs is to facilitate the current Click & Collect service offered by the University Library.

This is to assist any student who is unable to attend the library to collect their books from the shelves themselves due to illness (e.g. Covid), work commitments, or SWR.

  • Log into ALMA
  • Click on Fulfillment (left-hand menu)
  • Under Resource Requests, click on Pick From Shelf
  • Collect any items listed from the shelves
  • Return these items on Alma using Fulfillment and Return Items (see: Alma - Library Management System if required)
  • Date-stamp the book (Discharge stamp on date label)
  • A slip will be printed (per book) on the desktop receipt printer (to the right-hand side of the Law Library Help Desk)
  • Insert this slip securely into the book, with the top section of the slip on display
  • Place the book in the PRL or Walton white box beneath the Library Help Desk

These books will be collected at various times during Monday-Friday and transported to the relevant library. They will then be processed, and the requester will be informed (via libraryhelp@ncl.ac.uk email) they are ready for collection.
